The D-I title game featuring the top two teams in the Valley – Buchanan and Central – battle for all the marbles Nov. 29 at Koligian Stadium. Will RB Kendall Milton and QB Ian Kirby be too much for the Grizzlies and can a stout Buchanan defense stop the potent Central offense?
FRESNO — Clovis Sports Report founder Paul Meadors and Austin Kemp break down the D-I Central Section football title game between top-seed Central and two-seed Buchanan at Koligian Stadium on November 29.
Central (12-0) is the back-to-back section champs, defeating Buchanan in 2017 for the school’s first ever championship in football. The Bears’ (10-2) last title came in 2000 when now head coach Matt Giordano was a star player before his nine year career in the NFL as a hard-hitting, ball-hawking safety. The Grizzlies are coached by Kyle Biggs, a former standout QB at Clovis who threw for 3,557 yards in 1997 when the Cougars won the Yosemite Division championship.
Take a deep dive as Paul and Austin discuss what each team must do to in order to bring home the title the only way they know how – with facts and opinions mixed with entertaining takes.
