Open Division Preview; Paul and Austin discuss CW boys and girls vs CN and SJM

Open Division finals are set with Clovis West boys and girls, both defending champs and No. 1 seeds, play Saturday night.

FRESNO — Paul Meadors and Austin Kemp break down the Central Section Open Division title games Saturday night at Selland Arena. This is the first year the section has adopted the Open Division format, the top four teams regardless of school size. The winners of each game may be placed in either the CIF SoCal or NorCal Open Division. All eight teams involved in Open Division are guaranteed spots in the state playoffs.

The Clovis West girls are seeking their eighth straight Central Section title while the boys are gunning for its second straight. The Clovis North girls are searching for their first and Memorial boys third straight, the last two in Division II.

Girls: Feb. 29 at 6:00 p.m. No. 1 Clovis West (26-4) vs No. 2 Clovis North (22-7).

Boys: Feb. 29 at 8:00 p.m. No. 1 Clovis West (26-4) vs No. 3 San Joaquin Memorial (23-7).

Note: the video was made Tuesday evening before No. 3 Clovis East beat No. 2 St. Joseph 97-78. In addition, No. 4 Bullard upset No. 1 Bakersfield 60-54.

Division I final: Feb. 28 at 8:00 p.m. No. 4 Bullard (18-13) vs No. 3 Clovis East (20-10)
