Broncos continue to set the pace

In a battle of ranked D1 opponents, #1 Clovis North beat #9 Tulare Western 8-0 behind another stellar performance from senior Ryan O’Hara. The righty tossed five innings of two-hit baseball and also added two hits and two RBIs at the plate. Blake Asadoor came in relief for the final two innings and also hit a double. Riley Cooper rounded out the offense going 2-2 with a double, triple and 4 RBI. Clovis North will play in the Coca-Cola Classic Championship on Saturday afternoon at Clovis High School vs. El Diamante.

Laser show for Clovis West

#3 Clovis West used a 10-run bottom of the third to bury Edison 14-2, in a game that went five innings. Bradley Senneway, who picked up his first offer from Fresno Pacific on Wednesday, had a double and scored three runs. Art Navarette went 2-2 with a HR and 3 RBI while fellow senior Chauncey Turney added a HR of his own. Ixan Henderson also had two hits. On the mound, Erick Budd went four innings and picked up the win–his eighth in a three-year varsity career where he has yet to lose. Navarette HR shown below.

Buchanan continues to “grow” in win

Chris Lenocker went five innings, giving up just one hit in Buchanan’s shutout victory over Madera, 7-0. The Bears scored in multiple innings and was led on offense by Nick Marchini, Sky Collins, and Drew Smith— all of which had two hits. Sophomore Max Bernal provided the power with a solo HR in the 5th inning–his second of the season. Christian Williams made his second relief appearance of the season in which he failed to allow a run.

Clovis back over .500

On the road against an undefeated opponent, senior Ian Mortensen rose to the occasion tossing 5.2 innings, four hits, and eight strikeouts to beat previously undefeated El Diamante 6-0. Koby Kropf hit a two-run HR in the first inning to give the Cougars an early lead. After a sac fly from Andrew Dowie in the second inning, Clovis wouldn’t score again till the sixth when Ryan Tiger and Mortensen picked up RBIs. Cason Allison pitched the final inning, striking out two batters. Noah Beal scored two runs and recorded two hits.

TWolves pitching dominates Knights

Elijah Acosta went 5.1 innings with 7 Ks in Clovis East’s 5-1 win over Bullard. AJ Hodgerney went 2-2 at the plate with a double while Tomas Canales, Josh Sue, and Vance Hamzy all added RBIs.
